Yoga means “to unite”. To unite body, mind and soul. And to unite purpose of movement with well-being.

It is my goal that you experience wellbeing in your whole body. Wellbeing begins with balance. And I am not (just) talking about the physical balance in yoga postures.

I am talking about balance in you.

Try…

…to sit up right, feet planted and have your arms out in a T. Turn the palms of your hands up and feel how your upper body is now a scale.

Your hands are now the scale pans. Tip your right hand down and the left rises, and vice versa.

What weighs heavy in your scale pan? Do you feel balanced? A balance between strength and flexibility? Between movement and rest? Between hard work and letting go. Between your body and your mind. Do you feel a balance? … You know best what might weigh you down.

It is my goal that you experience wellbeing in your whole body. Wellbeing begins with balance. And I am not (just) talking about the physical balance in yoga postures.

I am talking about balance in you.

Yoga as a quick-fix?

Does long-term balance begin after a single yoga session, run or mini break? No, I don’t think so. But it can balance you momentarily.

And sometimes you do need an overload of vacation, party or chocolate. But I am guessing, that after a while you also feel the need to even out the scales again. The need for balance.

Process

I believe in the process. In repetitions and interruptions in this process.

I believe that it is difficult in the beginning, messy in the middle, but also fantastic and fun and developing… and that the process is for life. Without end. Always new dimensions and nuances. Just as in life.

So try it again…

… have your arms out in a T. Feel what there is enough of … (and yes, the answer might be cleaning and laundry).

Also, consider what you would like more of – as to even out the scales, finding balance. Is it more peace of mind? A stronger body? A strength in you?

Can yoga really do my cleaning and laundry?

Sadly: no. But maybe you wish to deal with another kind of cleaning and pile of laundry.

A kind of inner cleaning, polishing mirrors, sweeping the floor and opening the windows to allow freshness inside.

“But, Tine, you do know: it just gets dirty again…” Oh, yes. But this is when you repeat – this is the process. That you find the balance you need through  your body and breath.

And every time you find new reflections in the polished mirror, find new corners to dust and peace of mind, when everything is light again.

A process for balance

I believe in the process. That process is not linear, but it can seem unorganized. That it doesn’t alway lead you in the direction you thought you were going.

It is my purpose that the process leads you to balance. As an even scale, not with scale pans tipping out of control, weighing you down. Rather you are steady and strong. You are able to regain your balance, not if but when the scales tip again.

Hence the T after yoga in YOGA-T….

Light and love, Tine
